So far it has been a nice weekend with good weather and good friends. Had a little work to do on Saturday but that was okay. Bossy has hidden her baby nearby which is very smart. Little Bear knows where the fawn sleeps during the day and would like very much to eat it as she was raised from a wild mother. I startled Bossy this morning thinking my barn cats have disturbed the squirrel and chipmunks as they did yesterday morning while LB was barking madly. Bad Little Bear, leave that fawn alone! LB cannot get anywhere near it due to the electronic shock fence. Poor Bossy, having to put up with LB barking but she knows that certain types of barks brings out the human pit bull ready to save a deer, shoo away a trespasser, rescue a bird, coax a cat down a tree, etc. I have no photos of Bossy in her hideaway as I feel this would be an intrusion and I do not want to break her trust in me. She will show me her fawn when he becomes a certain age. I have already seen his hoof prints!
Pretty Indigo Bunting!
I believe that is Bossy's fawn's hoof print.
