A Rock Crush

Big Rocky is definately in love! He was smitten with the youngest of our family since she arrived in my arms as a kitten.  You can read about that dismal day by clicking the the highlighted area. He didn't mind that she had scrapes on her little body.  He didn't mind that she was a tiny terror, and he loved her musical little chirps and high pitched squeaks right from the start.

What about LaQuinta?  She is beautiful and black and the athlete of the family.  She is very graceful and can jump extremely high.  Sorry! I think he remembered how she pushed him down the steps when he was a kitten.  Rocky doesn't mind sharing our bed with LaQuinta so forgiveness must have played a part.
Princess is spectacular! She is a Norwegian Forest cat.  Who couldn't fall in love with that sweet little thing?  She is the fastest cat in the family and becomes a blur when she runs through the house.  She is very affectionate too! Those are good qualities...No way! Princess and Rocky do not get along and she growls when he passes by.  I used to have to separate them.  See? Blue blood beauties do not always win the man!
Rocky has fallen in love with our sweet little baby Bridget. But she looks very different now and he is the perfect lover; he doesn't mind weight gain!  Good boy, Rock!
Rocky displays his affection by tackling her in the kitchen while they await for some canned goodies.  Bridget squeals like a damsel in distress but deep down she adores his love bites and never runs away. Sigh...I remember the days when I was tackled! ;-)

Ok, I guess it doesn't hurt that badly!
Get off of me you big lug!

Rocky, no more tackling!
Well, maybe I changed my mind....
Love you too Rocky! Now, Mama, feed us!

I loved getting to know your cats better! You make me want to do a post on mine. We have 4 cats. All of them were rescues in one way or another except for 1 that was a gift.

I too am a critter lover and am new to your blog. I was reading your side bar about the fox and had my Appaloosa recognize a cougar long before we got to it perched in a tree. Needless to say how fast we left. And my Arabian and I were trail riding, bareback of course, and next thing he was nose to nose with a huge Pennsylvania buck who was dozing off in the woods, both started snorting away. Each backed away very slowly or I would not be typing her today. My critter stories are my most treasured memories since most are long gone.

HELLO!! I missed your last 2 posts, so will start by saying that I really enjoyed this post about your cats--Cats were always my first love and I love reading about their antics! THANKS for sharing yours! :-)

Second, I hope the cardinal found his strength to fly! We had a small gold finch this summer that I thought was injured, and it turned out it was just stunned--It was beautiful when it flew off!

Take care and enjoy your weekend!

Soooo cute! A little romance is always a good thing. I love the one of them eating side by side in the same pose. Of course Princess needs to come home with me :) She is so beautiful but then again they all are.

Hi there! Thanks for leaving me a comment....I just read through the last 3 entries (through the Christmas post...). Fascinating. I will be back.
I would be devastated if I saw the injured animals. I hit a squirrel once with my car and thought I would need therapy! You sound like a good person.
We LOVE cats, but I don't have enough space (or funds!) for more than two. They are our little babies.
Enjoy the New England winter with us. e

Sweet! Glad that she can stick up for herself a little, too. They make a cute couple, and I'm surprised they do so well together. I've had a hard time introducing new cats.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, and for your comments. Your Rocky is so handsome. He does remind me of Biggie. As cat lovers, did you ever meet a cat you didn't like? I loved the stories of all your fur kids. Also I love your blog header....so very nice. Funny that you mentioned Anne of a Thousand days, as it was next on my list of movies with Netflix! I received it today. I have seen it several times, but wanted to see it again. Your farm sounds like a haven away from the hustle and bustle.....I plan to stop by often. Hugs, Kathleen

Cats are so amazing and exquisite. I love all of yours, although I will always have the softest spot in my heart for cats that are black and for those darling mackerel tabbies. Don't you love the extra little fold in a cat's ear? And aren't their claws like tiny knives?? Sometimes I think the planet's most perfectly constructed animal is a cat!

Your Bridget does look like my Callie! And your Callie is a beautiful Halloween Calico. My Callie road to work one day under a co-workers pick-up, how she survived I am not sure but she came home with me that day and has been here ever since. You have a nice blog, lots to read here, I will be back. Love your header did you make it?

I love the cat fight pics! My 2 cats love to play, but are the bestest of friends. The playing and wrestling all starts when one puts an arm around the others shoulders. It all goes downhill from there. They keep me entertained, that's for sure!
