WHO IS BUTTERCUP? SOLVE THE MYSTERY TO WIN!
Last week while in Florida, I saw one of Buttercup's sisters and fell instantly in love. Oh my heavens, I had to have her but she belonged to someone else who loved her very much. Besides, we flew down, so it was impossible to bring her back to the farm. I asked the two ladies who were chatting nearby about her owner and they had no clue whom she belonged to but did know where I could find one of her sisters which really surprised me`. I left the parking lot while she just stood there tied to a post. I had to find her other family members and did later on in the day.. They are truly all beautiful, but her coloring was sheer perfection. I only wanted her twin.
Kritter Keeper loves mysteries so here is one for you to unravel if you want to win this $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE from WHITE FLOWER FARM. ...Most of my readers love flowers and vegetables, so I thought you all would enjoy this gift...especially since you can customize it yourself and get what you want. My hints are described below as are the details of how to win this freebie! Yay! Have fun!
Buttercup can be fast like Blue but only if you tell her as she is very obedient. She is like Bridget who is a calico and she has several colors. If you run your hand over one part of her, you will feel some bumps. They are pretty to look at too. You can dress part of her with something floral and nice. She doesn't mind being prissy! After a lot of research, I finally found Buttercup for sale in Lexington, Kentucky of all places. She was the only one left with her coloring. I was so happy and felt very lucky!
She is three gaited, like Blue, with a walk, trot and a canter though I wouldn't describe her way of going like that at all. Nugget being such a good boy just laid down beside her and smiled. Limp (little button buck) circled her and looked a little apprehensive but the two geese didn't seem afraid at all. I was told to monitor her air capacity each week which was news for me. She is quite the hog, and needs more than most. Oh, and they also told me she really should not be outside when it is raining. Can you guess yet?

oh ur welcome theanne, just be sure to tell me if he walks on you...i went back and read your response to my comment...too funny!
Oh my goodness....you should be a mystery writer!!! My best guess is some sort of daylilly!
She's cute, pretty bumps, tied to a post when you saw her, likes to be prissy with floral somewhere on her to wear...oh, this is so hard. I'm just going to say a miniature cow. I am SOOO sorry if it is really a horse of some kind. :S I don't think a horse would want to be called a cow.
Oh, what a tough challenge. First I thought a cat. Then I thought a horse. But the comment about air capacity is what gets me. So I'm thinking she is some type of bird. How about a cockatoo?
Love the photo with all the mixed Dafs I am waiting for mine to bloom , I dont have quite as many as the photos but each year I will be working on that lol. Have a great day !
the daff photo is white flower farm...it is a gorgeous place!
That sounds very interesting and beautiful but I have no idea what it is!! Love the pictures at your farm though...gorgeous!! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
Gorgeous photo. Glad to see you blogging -- missed you! :)
Hmm... tied to a post in a parking lot and three gaited...I'm going to say miniture horse. Don't know why.
Without a doubt after reading your profile Buttercup is a horse!!!Yes you want another horse to call your own!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! My guess is a potbellied pig. By the way I love your blog such great pictures. Rebekah
Hmmmm...could it be an Alpaca?
Or perhaps a little donkey or burro?
Am I cheating to have more than one guess in the same post? Heehee!
darn, there i go publishing another guess. so very sorry!!! no it isn't either of those....it is ok to keep on guessing! :)
I'm a new follower and am not very familiar with many farm animals although I love them. I'm taking a wild guess that Buttercup is a pig? I'll be interested to hear what the answer is.
I don't have a clue???
Okay ... First thanks for stopping by my blog ... Fannie Mae is doing great. I am clueless on this so ... this is just a guess ... I think it is a MULE ...Only other animal that I know to be gaited.
Thanks again!
Teri♥♥♥
I am thinking that Buttercup is a cow.
A goat!!!????? A baby goat!
I have found a new love!! You are my kind a girl!! I love love love animals all of them!!! I would have loved to live on a farm when I was a young woman. I love plants too!! In the 80's we had a big big garden!! We didn't have much money so we grew our food and also sold vegs to restaurants. Three years ago we started gardening again. Again no money!!! This year we are going to have a very big garden. Go back and read some of my old posts and see pictures of our plants.
Is Buttercup a goat? Wouldn't that be great to have fresh goats milk even cheese!!! I love goat cheese!!
I am so happy to meet you!!!
I have a book to talk about but no time so I'll be thinking and you come and look over my blog some. I loved your deer. When one comes around here I never get a picture of it and when the fox comes no picture either.
Possums probably did not do that to your pet. I know them real well. Maybe a coon did that.
xx, Fern
I checked back to see if you'd spilled the beans yet. Hate having to wait until tomorrow! ;-)
so glad you stopped by my site, because it led me to your blog. Love the pictures of all your animals! Can't wait to go through the rest of your posts.:)
all I have to say is thank you so much for your comment you left for me....you are so nice...

hmmmm i think it is an Alpaca! haha
and thank you for your sweet comment! We went to several hospitals besides the one in fort wayne. i even applied for the Mayo clinic but my insurance woudn't cover it so we stayed here.
Thanks!
Leontien
How exciting... an alpaca? Oh, I want one, well I want one of everything! Hope you are well.
Ok this is a stretch.. I think Buttercup is some kind of plant...
Jan from Jan's Place!
how about St. John's wort? i do have some in MY garden that has lasted 10 years! needing lots of air was a clue! LISA M
Thanks for following me... I don't know how you slipped by - usually I welcome new followers and follow their blogs. So, I'm a follower now :-)
Love your mystery! There are so many clues that are really throwing me off - like the bumps!
My guess is a pot-bellied pig. I think Buttercup would be a great name for a pig and I believe they can be found in calico colors - but would be somewhat rare. I think breathing capacity can be an issue for pot bellied pigs... and I read they like to wallow in mud but don't like rain on their backs. The only thing that is still bugging me is the bumps.... hmmm!
I'm "Dreaming" from http://livingadream2.blogspot.com/
Kritter Keeper, some kind of lawn ornament like the goose that you can change outfits on? Bumps? Got me stumped! Oooo, that email! How could I not click over here? Gotta keep thinking. Topiary kind of thing?
Hi thanks for checking out my blog, is it a cow?
Regards
Edward
Another guess...a peacock?
It also occured to me that it could be a little pot bellied pig - although that doesn't fit with the air capacity that I know of.
Thank you for your lovely comments on my blog and I am so glad to have found yours too. Beautiful photos of all your wonderful animals and I am fascinated to find out who Buttercup is.... I shall return to find out :) Abby
I am at absolute loss. A cow? What would be tied in a parking lot, and needs its air capacity checked? I'm not even 100% convinced it's a critter (or kritter, as the case may be)! Looking forward to the answer!
I think Buttercup is a little goat. Love the pic of Blue all dusty, my horses used to do that but I never got a picture of it. Youre lucky to still have them all. Thanks!
An Emu!!!!!!!!!!!????????
Buttercup the Emu????????????????
oh there are so many good guesses!
...only a half an hour left. Meet Buttercup will be published at 5 pm...
ready set go!! here comes all of the comments...it is 5 eastern standard time...beginning with the first blogger that ventured a guess!
Jill I'm so excited to have won your guessing contest! I'm usually not very good at things like this but I did ok for myself this time. I'm going to check out White Flower Farm's website ...this is perfect timing because I'm filling a new flower bed at the moment so this will come in VERY handy. Thank you for the opportunity for a chance to win. Have a wonderful week.
Maura :)
