A big warm thank you with a virtual hug for all of you who took the time to guess my cute little mystery and for all of my new blog buddies. Kudos to you Lisa for trying so hard and giving it your all,
but my first commenter who offered a guess had the closest answer therefore she will be sent the $25 gift certificate from White Flower Farm. Congrats MAURA from Lilac Lane Cottage! My heart sank when I read your comment only because you almost got it right away and I thought my clues were too simple....but, they proved extremely elusive and nobody else came close though Woodswoman was on the right track just as I knew she would be!...Here's hoping my dear bloggy buddies exercised patience and didn't scroll all the way down to see Buttercup (I would have zoomed down as fast as possible! lol)....

This is her prissy part, such cute little designs! |
|
Her seat is bumpy and very pretty...I know, I know...that was a hard clue! |
|
She requires 40-65 psi of AIR!! I put 65 in my truck tires! |
|
She has three speeds which makes navigating those hills easier...and she is made of steel, so rain is a no-no! |
|
Ta Daaaaa! Isn't she adorable? |
|
I was lucky to find this darling little photo that had one of Buttercup's 'relatives' in it...didn't you wonder why that photo was chosen? Everyone assumed it was an animal. Kritter Keeper delighted in throwing you off by comparing Buttercup to animals, like Bridget's coloring and Blue's gaits....tee hee! :) |
|
She is very fun to ride and I want to take her everywhere, but WV is a bit hilly. She will be so much fun at horse shows if I can get her in the back of the truck without scratching her....hmmm. |
|
Nugget, you like her don't you? |
|
Little Limp, don't be frightened! You are braver than your elders I must admit. All of the Long Tails disappeared into the woods. |
|
Here I come Mr. and Mrs. Geese! Will you be scared of Buttercup? |
|
Good geese! What brave fowl you are! |
|
Look Jessie and Blue, look what Mama has! Jessie briefly left her beloved grass but Blue wanted to check Buttercup out after a few minutes of staring at her. |
|
Blue, don't you dare kick her! It was very windy! He snorted and trotted off getting a little too close for comfort so off we went back down the lane. |
When I went to name her at the bike shop I had no clue people named these bikes, as I love to name things and always have...an earlier customer named her bike 'Annabelle' which I thought was sooo cute! But I wanted something original and we all began throwing out names. The man waiting on me came up with Buttercup and I knew right away that was it. Look how pretty she looks in front of "The Old House"! Hmmmm, I think "The Old House' would look awfully good with a cute picket fence...what do you think? Time to get away from this computer and ride BUTTERCUP! Thank you again, and thank you to all of my new bloggy buddies who joined Farm Tails!

Oooh, la la! What a fancy bicycle. Have fun on her! :)
What an adorable bike. I can just picture you cruising down the lane singing "Oh what a beautiful mornin" from Oklahoma. Enjoy!
Darn it, I'm too late!
Now that is one fancy ride! I love the new bicycle and her name is perfect. Congratulations to Lisa, I would never have guessed it! I can see you riding Buttercup down a WV hill, yellow Wellies on your feet, daffodils filling her basket and a straw hat with a yellow ribbon tied under your chin. How's that for a lovely Spring vision!

CONGRATS to Maura!!! I somehow missed this, but wouldn't have gotten it right anyway--Buttercup will be a treasured friend that you'll have lots of fun on!!
I was a mile off! Very cute bike, would get me motivated to go ride it! Thanks for commenting on my blog, and the farm is my grandparents in northern NH, I own 1/19th of it and being not wealthy dont get to go very often. So I dream much.
I never got around to guessing, but I wouldn't have come close. You really had me going on that one. As you can guess, I really liked the photos of the deer and the bike.
In reference to the elk, I don't know what one would do. I started blogging in 2007 and made my film in 2008, which sparked a lot of discussion about elk issues that had not occurred before and for awhile things seemed hopeful, but now with the change in governors it appears that more hunting pressure is going to be directed instead of less and at this point I am at a loss as to what to do, other than to continue writing and trying to influence people.
As for the deer, the doe that I featured has always had the fawns with the reddish brown coats and the big white circles around the eyes and she has had a lot of bucks, while some other deer in the herd are more of the "mouse colored" variety with much less white. I currently have at least two bucks still there that are three years old. Amazingly they only had very short antlers at one year of age (an inch or less), at two years one was a three point and the other a four. They left during the rut, but returned after it ended. I am hoping they will not leave in May and I get to see what they grow this year, but I am afraid they will leave. I had one 3 yr old last year (Lenny), and he left in mid-May along with a 2 yr. old that I could actually put my arms around. They returned in early September for about three days and then left forever. It is almost like as though they came back to show us what they had turned in to. The younger buck walked right up to me and I touched him. This was one of the greatest thrills of my life to see them return and still trust me. Lenny had turned into a magnificent, wide eight point, while the 2 yr old (Dickie) was a heavy antlered six-point. I suppose they are dead now, but their memory will life with me forever.
This was my first time visit to your blog ~ and I really enjoyed the visit. What a great contest you held about Buttercup! I LOVE her!! and want one just like her :)
Wonderful, I hope you have a great time riding around!
Well, you certainly tricked me! I guess I am just too darn literal!
Have fun with Buttercup. My bike is jealous.... she doesn't have a name! (Maybe my bike is a guy.... named "Dusty"!)
OH! I was away all weekend and missed the Buttercup guessing game! I wonder if I would have guessed correctly because I have a Buttercup of my own that I love cruising around on when we are at the beach. It is so much fun. But your Buttercup is really special with all those cool graphics and the fanciful basket!!!! I love that picture of Blue spying her because it always looks like Lilly has been transported to your fam when I see Blue! But only for a minute! then I realize that I am not the only paint admirer! You see we have two things in common for sure: darling bicycles and paint horses! Congrats to MAURA!!!
I love Buttercup. Too cute.
Ahhhhh, your Buttercup is a real Sweetheart. I love her flair. Happy Trails To You!
BlessYourHeart
Oh, a bike! Ride it and you don't have to feed it ~ what a great deal!
A bike! How cool is THAT????? I would never have guessed (and didn't!) I would have to throw it in the car to ride it somewhere around here, so you are doubly lucky!
What a classic. I vote for a picket fence.
Congratulations to Maura! I never would've guessed a bike. She's beautiful :-)
:) Enjoy your time with Buttercup!!
Buttercup is an absolute beauty ~ and so perfectly named! I can just see you toodling all around on her.
How lovely!
What a cool bike! You sure had us stumped. Rebekah
This was my first visit here - I saw your comment on Lving a Dream's blog and since you're a fellow Pittsburgher I was compelled to visit! And I'm so glad I did. Love your site and Buttercup is so cute - looks like a blast!
I love buttercups and I love Buttercup! Congratulations! I have wanted a Cruiser, too. We got our DIL one for Christmas and I rode it when we went to visit...FUN. My grandparents owned two and lived in San Diego, so growing up, we used to ride them at the beach and all around. They are the funnest bikes EVER. Have fun!! (BTW, yours is very unique!)
Beautiful! I never would have guessed a bike! Ha...
Well I could have guessed for 20 days and never come up with a bicycle!!!! Where are all the comments that guessed??
xx, Fern
Those clues were just way beyond me - and I did think about it for quite a while. That is the coolest bike ever!!!
Oh, how fun!! You really tripped me up on that one!! I would never have guessed a bike, but it SURE is pretty!! I love bike riding, and all those little painted details on her are JUST splendid!! Have fun!!
Wow I really never would have guessed that, it is a very nice bicycle I am sure you’ll have a lot of fun with it, the name suits it too, and congratulations to the winner.
Regards
Edward

I had a bike once I named t
Trigger, pretending it was my horse.. *giggle*
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and leaving such a lovely comment. In answer to your question both sets of candlesticks were found at garage sales here in upstate New York. The glass ones were bought for $1.50, can you believe that?
Have a wonderful and very blessed Easter!
Tina xo
